Enhance your well-being!

Health and general wellness are closely tied together you cannot have good health without making wise choices, to help enhance your well-being.

Your well-being, is basically the way your live your life.  A few areas of wellness are:  Environmental, Emotional, Spiritual and Physical.   You need to make good choices that will enhance your well-being, this might include eating the right foods, exercising, breathing in clean air, getting enough sleep and taking vitamins etc...  Basically it means a healthy evenness and harmony of the mind, body and spirit!
One way we can enhance our well-being is by limiting the the toxic-chemicals and biological contaminats we breathe in daily.  We cannot totally avoid air pollution.  According to the Environmental Protection Agency, (EPA) the pollutants in our homes are three times more inclined to form some kind of cancer, then the outside air pollutants.
Here are a few examples of the pollutants or contaminats that  might or might not be in your home.  Ex. cigarette smoke, carpet, paint, some building materials, some of these materials give off chemicals. Ex.  Some furniture secretes formaldehyde.  Some other chemicals that might be in your home are ammonia and benzene.  According to the EPA indoor air pollution is perhaps two to five times higher and at times up to one hundred times higher than the outside air.
Some biological contaminats such as allergens, bacteria, molds, pollen, animal dander and etc... is very likely to increase inferior and inadequate air quality in your home.  Indoor air pollution is one of the most serious and important concerns in the US.  These biological substances when inhaled are associated with breathing problems.  When you exercise your lungs work harder and you will be inclined to breathe in deeper, which will mean the toxic- pollutants and or biological contaminates will be accumlated in the lungs.
Remember, before you start any exercise program, check with your Doctor first!!
If you Doctor states you can start an exercise program, you can also choose to have cleaner air in your home.  I have heard people say, I will just open my windows, this in fact will allow the entry of pollen, which is another allergen, as well as food for dust mites.

So make the wise choices in your life, God Bless and Be Well!

Getting in shape by swimming may help to build a healthier body, soothe the mind, regulate breathing, and stimulate circulation.    Swimming workouts are an excellent, all-around exercise, beneficial for the least fit to the fittest!  Typically, physical activity is relatively safe for most people. Although individual results will vary, exercising regularly has some physical wellness and psychological benefits. Swimming workouts may play an important part in staying healthy.
Some important swimming information:  Always check with your physician before you start any and all exercise programs, Including swimming. Never swim alone, Swim at your own risk, and Never leave children unattended while they are swimming.  While swimming or any exercise alone, is not sufficient to prevent heart disease, any other diseases or any other health problems, it can be a critical part of any prevention program.
When you start out with any swimming or any exercise program it is recommended and wise to start out slowly and gradually build up your Physical fitness workout routine, but don't over do it.  In general people who are active, frequently tend to live longer and have a higher quality of life, then people who are sedentary!
The majority of all adults need at least 20-30 minutes of moderate physical activity at least three- five days per week.  Some examples include: walking, dancing, swimming etc...  Another benefit of Swimming it is a low-impact workout!
The consistent motion of activity that you use, when you are swimming involves exertion, not only on the heart and lungs, but on essentially all the major muscle groups of the body, and it also helps to enhance the body in building muscle, strength, and cardiorespiratory endurance. Swimming workouts, exercise the body with less stress on tendons, ligaments and joints than running and other higher impact activities.
If you are determined to do your fitness workouts on land, another great way to utilize your pool, is to use the pool for your warm-up sessions. While you continue to intensify your swimming workouts, you will gradually increase your heart rate and stimulate your muscle , this is easily accomplished in the water. After your land workouts, you can do several laps to help you cool-down, move blood through your muscles to help them recover, and help you relax as you glide through the water.  Other fitness schedules could include:  Kicking workouts, water aerobics or even pool running.
The freestyle stroke (front crawl) , is most often used for endurance swimming.
While swimming, water is continually washing over you and cooling you off as you swim, you can perspire a great deal while swimming and not know it, so you must be constantly replacing fluids. You need to replace fluids before, while you swim every approx. 20-30 min. and after you finish your swim.
Swimming is specifically beneficial at developing the upper body. a swimmers leg muscles are primarily used to keep the body balanced in the water, not for speed; so the more a swimmer relies on arm power, the more efficiently he or she will glide through the water. In competitive swimmers about 80 % of the forward motion, comes from the arms and shoulders. And because of controlled breathing, swimming further benefits the respiratory muscles and improves forced vital capacity, a measure of breathing ability.
The low injury rate among swimmers is due in part to the floatability of water, which holds the body up and relieves it of weight-bearing stresses. Since swimming does not place great strain on the spine, hips, knees and other joints, it is especially beneficial for people who are over-weight and for those with knee or lower back problems. Because of the reduced physical strain, these people can work out longer and more rigorous while swimming, than while performing virtually any other form of exercise. Swimming is also a productive way for providing the aerobic capacity for injured runners and other injured exercisers, so they might be able to stay active. If you are a beginner, swimming lessons are recommended and even intermediate swimmers will be able to benefit from improving their performance technique skills, to make sure that they are swimming correctly.
Target heart rate: research has shown that people have a lower maximum heart rate when they swim, than compared with exercising on land. The reasons may possibly be due to an enhancement in the volume of blood pumped per beat during swimming, and more positive conditions like the regulation of body temperature.

Simply Dust ?

Health and general wellness are closely tied together you cannot have good health without making wise choices, to help enhance your well-being!

Basically, what is household dust?
It can be a accumulation of any and many different tiny particles, here are only some of them  Ex:
Human dead skin cells, dried feces and dehydrated dead bodies of dust mites and dust mites feed on flakes of shed human skin especially in bedrooms, kitchens, mattresses, carpets, furniture, bedding and pillows, they also feed on pollen, fungi, bacteria and animal dander.  Tiny fibers of shed clothing, sheets, carpet, dirt, pollen, hair follicles, cockroach droppings, nail filings, mold spores, food crumbs, glass particles, animal and human hair, glue, graphite. pet dander is ( pets dead skin), insect fragments, paint chips, plant parts, polymer foam particles, salt and sugar crystals, fungal spores, tobacco, wood shavings, soil, sand, etc...  (Not a Pretty Picture)!
Let's face it, dust accumulates everywhere, especially in vents, heating ducts, in fans and electronic gadgets that are inclined to static electricity.  Ex: TV, computers, etc...
Bamboo Charcoal reduces pet odors, mold and mildew, foul odors, allergens, bacteria.  It also helps to reduce formaldehyde, ammonia, benzene and chloroform gases emmitted by everyday items such as air fresheners, chemical cleaners, rubber, plastics, paint, carpeting, ciagarette smoke and furniture. These air pollutants also help to increase inferior and inadequate air quality in our homes.
According to the EPA, the air pollutants in our homes are two to five times higher and at times up to  one hundred times higher that the air outside of your home. The air inside is also Three times as lnclined to cause some form of cancer, than the outside air.  EPA also states that indoor air pollution is one of the five most serious environmental concerns in the US.
Someone told me that they open their windows to get fresh and cleaner air in their home.  Bamboo Charcoal does give off oxygen and Negative Ions, which is great for the air we breathe.
However, when you do open your window or windows, that allows pollen to enter your home which is another allergen as well as food for dust mites.  In certain climates, the air coming in the home may be humid, which increases dust mites.
Just think, you might be inhaling in some of  these substances, which again is not healthy for you or your family.  We cannot totally get rid of air pollution, but we can make wise choices, to have cleaner air in our homes.
We can select, to use Bamboo Charcoal as an aide in helping us to reduce these harmful particles in the air.

So make the wise choices in your life, God Bless and Be Well!

What is so Postive about Negative Ions?

Health and general wellness are closely tied together you cannot have good health without making wise choices, to help enhance your well-being!

Did you know that Bamboo Charcoal gives off oxygen and negative ions?  You might ask, what are positive and negative ions and what do they do?   Basically, the air that surrounds us is full of positive and negative elements that are electrically charged.  The elements are the positive and negative ions, they can be an atom or a molecule and they are a normal occurance and they happen naturally in the air.  For example negative ions are charged, oxygen atoms with an extra electron, and they can help you to feel better!  There happens to be a larger supply of positive ions, than negative ions in the air.  The positive ions create and generate an electrical imbalance in the air and our bodies, that means they tend to be damaging to our bodies.  These are what we call free radicals.  Free radicals can cause the destruction of our body cells.  Free radicals can extract and take out electrons from our healthy cells.  For this reason, damaged cells are believed to be the reason for the disintegration of our physical and emotional wellness, also this is possibly why our body ages and is capable of getting cancer. So positive ions are unhealthy and dangerous, while in contrast negative ions tend to help you feel better, with enhanced vitality!

Here are a few known benefits of negative ions:

They help you to sleep better, they enhance physical and mental performance, they also help to prevent migraine headaches, reduces and/or destroys bacteria, viruses and other microbes, it can help to improve your mood and emotions, it helps get rid of pollen dust, etc...  Even a modest quantity of negative ions, can kill airborn bacteria.

In experiments with animals it has been shown that the animal chooses to be in the negative ion cages and they tend to stay away from the cages with positive ions.

Here are other examples:  Rabbits are known for being timid, and peaceful creatures but when they were exposed to overdoses of positive ions they were showing aggressiveness.

Human burn victims also seem to recover faster and have less pain when they were exposed to air with negative ions.

Even "problem children'" tend benefit from an environment rich in negative ions.

There is a continuing controversy pertaining to how detrimental electromagnetic waves   are in our homes. These waves come from our TV, visible light, microwaves, x-rays, radio transmissions, stereos, computers, basically our electric gadgets, etc...  Some say the electromagnetic waves are bad and some say there is not enough information to prove either way.  Good or bad, negative ions help to us to get rid of electromagetic waves.

We are not always able to choose to be surrounded by cleaner air when we our outdoors, but we can choose to have cleaner air in our homes. When we are surrounded by an abundant number of negative ions occupying our air space, our capacity for improved health and well-being become better.   Simultaneously, the positive ions are detrimental and damaging to our health.  We can't totally avoid air pollution.  Indoor air pollution is one of the most serious environmental concerns in the USA.

Negative ions are mostly in fresh air, they can be created and formed by lightening, ocean surf, waterfalls and plants.  Don't forget Bamboo Charcoal can be another way of putting negative ions in your home, office, RV, gym, etc...

So make the wise choices in your life, God Bless and Be Well!
